Intimidated by wine? Never fear! A new addition to this year’s Wine on the Fox, two wine education classes will offer the opportunity to learn and to sample a series of wines, guided by a certified sommelier and wine educator.
Saturday, 4-4:45 p.m.
A 45-minute seminar that covers the basics. Can’t tell a pinot grigio from a pinot noir? Learn the basics of varietals and the meaning of descriptors like ‘dry’ and ‘full-bodied.’ Participants will sample 5-6 wines and establish the foundation to better enjoy wine and pick out selections with more confidence. Both seminars are taught by certified wine educator and sommelier Christopher Rowell, who brings more than 20 years of wine industry experience to the table. After completing a culinary degree from the Cooking & Hospitality Institute of Chicago, Rowell found his true passion in wine, and now travels to wine regions across the globe, garnering multiple wine industry certifications.
